Andechs Abbey in Bavaria

You can reach Andechs Abbey from the Sonnenhof in just under an hour by car. It is clearly visible from a distance above the eastern bank of the Ammersee.

It is the second largest place of pilgrimage in Bavaria

The abbey stems from Andechs Castle and to this date is still an important pilgrimage church. The “Holy Mountain” of Andechs is the oldest and after Altötting the second largest place of pilgrimage in Bavaria.

The beauty of the surrounding environment can be discovered best on a walk from the Ammersee to Andechs Abbey. On your arrival there, a cool shandy in the beer garden is something you have truly earned.
